I finally got around to using up my supply of sago and gula melaka which were languishing on my shelf and in my fridge respectively.

That’s because I had a sudden craving for sago gula melaka, after surfing the many food blogs which I have been reading lately.

The thing which I love about gula melaka is that no matter what you do with it, it tastes like magic on a rainy Caturday morning while sleeping in.

Or maybe it’s just me and my sweet tooth.

Well, I’m feeling a bit too lazy to tell you what sago gula melaka is, and exactly what recipe I used so I shall just let the pictures do the talking.

Moreover, I take after my dad in my cooking style in that we depend a lot on agar-ration or guess-timation in our cooking.

This means that we don’t have a fixed quantity/set of ingredients which we use, so it makes passing on the recipe a bit difficult too.

And it means that every cooking experience is always different, and no two dishes will ever taste the same.

There’s good and bad in that, but I digress; I did say I was going to let the pictures do the talking, right? :)

Sago setting in the fridge.

Same for the gula melaka.

The santan (coconut milk) with pandan leaves.

Layering the gula melaka on the sago.

Then the santan.

Then it’s time to whack.

Looks like I be needing a new category called ‘Food’ for this blog soon.

P.S. Eat your heart out, hansel25! Hahahaha :) No lah just kidding. Come back to Singapore soon!
