In the wake of OTOT, themrbrownshow’s podcast titled “we need you baby” comes at a very nice time. I’d highly recommend you to listen to it - it’s not as rip-roaringly hilarious as some other stuff they’ve produced, but I really like the use of the military setting as a part of the satire.

At the same time, I think the themrbrownshow’s podcasts should also be a part of the Singaporean literary canon, IMHO, but I’m sure many people would find my statement contentious/radical, so more on that next time, maybe.

Went down to Siglap South CC to pass some coveralls to the OTOT gang yesterday and managed to catch a sneak peek of the rehearsals.

I hate it when i get e-mail from people asking me to ‘revert’, so I’d like to clear this up, once and for all.

re·vert - /rɪˈvɜrt/ - [ri-vurt]

    –verb (used without object)
  1. to return to a former habit, practice, belief, condition, etc.: They reverted to the ways of their forefathers.

  2. Law. to go back to or return to the former owner or to his or her heirs.

  3. Biology. to return to an earlier or primitive type.

  4. to go back in thought or discussion: He constantly reverted to his childhood.

  5. –noun
  6. a person or thing that reverts.

  7. Law. a reversion.

– Dictionary.com, “revert.”

So to put it nicely: revert your arse, alright! To revert means to return to a former state, so in no way should ‘revert’ be confused with ‘reply’!

Sheesh. This is an SAF-ism that has propagated from the military into the civilian world, no thanks to NS.
